POWERED BY COMMUNITY
A hub for people and ideas shaping the connection between Europe and Africa
Kodo is a startup with roots in both Switzerland and Africa. We aim to create a hub in Switzerland for the African diaspora and for individuals and organizations interested in the continent’s future.
Our focus lies on financial projects and infrastructure that connect Europe and Africa, helping to build stronger financial corridors, simplify transactions, and strengthen economic exchange between the two regions.
"Africa’s real opportunity lies in the people, ideas, and talents shaping its future."
— Core Philosophy
Africa has the world's youngest population, with over 60% under 25. By 2050 the continent will reach around 2.5bn people, shaping a powerful future workforce.
Growing economies, rising middle classes, and stronger regional trade are creating rapidly expanding markets and new opportunities for investment and entrepreneurship.
Across Africa, digital transformation is gaining momentum. Innovations like mobile money, e-commerce, and digital platforms are creating new opportunities across many sectors.
The Architects
Malik Lamin Bajo is a Swiss-Gambian finance professional driven by a deep personal connection to both Switzerland and West Africa. With over five years of experience at Switzerland's largest bank, he has built a robust foundation across institutional banking, African wealth management, and asset management with a focus on private markets — giving him an end-to-end understanding of how capital moves across continents and communities. Beyond traditional finance, Malik has strong knowledge of decentralised finance (DeFi) and digital assets, and is passionate about the transformative potential of blockchain technology in reshaping cross-border payments. Malik understands the challenges the African diaspora faces when engaging with opportunities in Africa — from friction in transactions and limited trust, to the overall complexity of the process. This lived experience, combined with his financial background, drives his commitment to building a more transparent, reliable, and accessible financial bridge between Switzerland and Africa.
